CMF expands flood relief efforts across Limpopo and Mpumalanga

The Collen Mashawana Foundation (CMF), in partnership with various stakeholders, continued its flood relief outreach programme on Day 2, extending critical support to flood-affected communities in Limpopo and Mpumalanga.

The outreach focused on Phalaborwa, Hoedspruit and Bushbuckridge, where CMF worked closely with local municipalities, mayors, municipal councils, executive leadership and disaster management teams. Their collaboration played a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of relief efforts on the ground.

During the programme, the Foundation distributed additional wheelchairs, food parcels, blankets, mattresses and other essential relief items to vulnerable community members affected by recent flooding. The interventions were aimed at providing immediate assistance while helping restore dignity to families who have suffered losses as a result of the disasters.

Beyond emergency relief, CMF reaffirmed its commitment to longer-term recovery initiatives. The Foundation announced plans to work with participating municipalities to assist in rebuilding some of the homes destroyed during the floods, forming part of its broader rehabilitation and recovery strategy.

The Collen Mashawana Foundation also expressed its appreciation to the Mayor of Maruleng Municipality, Cllr Tsheko Musolwa, and the Mayor of Bushbuckridge Municipality, Cllr Lydia Moroane, for their leadership, hospitality and continued dedication to serving their communities during this challenging period.

CMF said it remains guided by compassion and a shared vision of rebuilding lives and restoring hope, as it continues to support affected communities through coordinated and sustainable interventions.
