1. Purpose
This procedure exists to ensure that all readers and members of the public can raise concerns or lodge formal complaints about:
Inaccurate or misleading reporting
Unfair or unbalanced coverage
Breach of privacy or dignity
Misuse of quotes, photos, or personal information
Any violation of the South Africa Daily Press Code
2. How to Lodge a Complaint
You can submit your complaint in one of the following ways:

Please include:
Your full name and contact details
The title and date of the article in question
A clear description of your concern or the alleged breach
The outcome or correction you are seeking
3. Timeframe for Complaints
To ensure a fair process, complaints should be submitted within 30 days of publication or broadcast.
Complaints received after this period will still be considered at the editor’s discretion, especially where public interest is involved.
4. How We Handle Complaints
Once we receive your complaint, the process is as follows:
Acknowledgement:
You’ll receive confirmation that your complaint has been received within 48 hours.
Internal Review:
The complaint will be reviewed by our editorial team or ombudsman, who may contact you for clarification or additional information.
Response:
We aim to respond to all complaints within 10 working days.
If the complaint is upheld, we will issue a correction, clarification, or apology as appropriate.
If we find no breach, we will explain our reasoning clearly.
Further Escalation:
If you are not satisfied with our internal resolution, you have the right to refer your complaint to the Press Council of South Africa for independent adjudication.
5. Corrections and Clarifications
When we make a factual error, we will:
Correct it promptly and visibly, whether in print or online.
Publish an explanation or apology when warranted, maintaining full transparency with our readers.
