SAPS orders Fadiel Adams to hand himself over to police
Police say a warrant of arrest has been issued for Fadiel Adams, who allegedly interfered in the Sindiso Magaqa murder investigation and failed to hand himself over.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) Political Killings Task Team has called on Fadiel Adams to present himself at his nearest police station in connection with charges of fraud and defeating or obstructing the course of justice.
In a statement on Tuesday police said a J50 warrant of arrest has been issued for Adams, linked to allegations that he interfered with ongoing investigations into the murder of former African National Congress Youth League leader, Sindiso Magaqa.
Investigators claim Adams interfered with a convicted and sentenced hitman at a critical and advanced stage of the probe, potentially undermining the integrity of the case.
Police said multiple attempts have been made to locate Adams, including visits to various addresses associated with him. An arrangement had been made through his legal representative for him to hand himself over on Monday, 4 May 2026, at Cape Town Central Police Station, but he failed to do so.
He was also expected to appear before a court in KwaZulu-Natal on the same day but did not appear.
Police said further attempts to contact Adams through his attorney have been unsuccessful. SAPS has now urged him to cooperate with authorities and surrender without delay.
