KwaZulu‑Natal police commissioner Lt‑Gen Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi has personally stepped in to address escalating tensions between the abaKhwanazi and Ncube clans following a contentious land allocation linked to King Misuzulu’s appointment decisions. The dispute had sparked fears of violence and threatened community stability in the Dukuduku area.
Mkhwanazi joined traditional affairs officials and royal leaders to host a community imbizo, bringing clan elders and local residents together to resolve misunderstandings and rebuild trust. The meeting focused on dialogue, ensuring grievances were heard while emphasizing the importance of lawful conduct.
Police and community leaders highlighted the need to prevent further conflict, reiterating that disputes over land must be addressed through negotiation and recognized channels rather than confrontation. Both clans committed to continued engagement and pledged to respect traditional and legal processes.
