The Limpopo High Court in Polokwane has postponed the bail appeal application of musician Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke, popularly known as Shebeshxt, after concerns were raised about supplementary information allegedly generated through artificial intelligence.
Shebeshxt appeared before the court on Wednesday for his bail appeal application.
During proceedings, Judge Pillay expressed concern over supplementary facts that had been submitted before the court, warning that the information should be treated with caution.
The judge pointed out that the advocate who submitted the additional information was not the legal representative officially appointed in court on Wednesday. Judge Pillay further indicated that the contents appeared to be either AI-generated or otherwise unverified.
As a result, the matter was postponed to 12 June 2026 at 9am.
Shebeshxt is currently facing several charges linked to a shooting incident earlier this year. The charges reportedly include attempted murder, discharging a firearm in a public place and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
He was previously denied bail in the lower court, prompting the appeal before the High Court.
