11 suspects arrested for alleged fuel theft at Meyerton fuel plant
Eleven suspects aged between 27 and 46 were arrested during a coordinated Hawks operation at a Meyerton fuel plant following intelligence about an alleged fuel theft scheme.
Eleven suspects have been arrested at a fuel plant in Meyerton by members of the Hawks’ Tactical Operations Management Section (TOMS) and several law enforcement units over alleged fuel theft activities.
The operation, conducted on Sunday morning, involved the Hawks’ Non-Ferrous Section Headquarters, Vaal Rand Serious Organised Crime Investigation, Gauteng Traffic Police Airwing, Bidvest Protea Coin Tactical Unit and Protea Coin Airwing.
In a statement, TOMS members received intelligence regarding a robbery that was allegedly set to take place at the fuel plant. The information was operationalised and the area was placed under surveillance.
