The Bus company prepares over 600 buses and drivers through intensive safety training in partnership with key road safety stakeholders.
Putco has launched a defensive driver training and road safety campaign ahead of the busy 2026 Easter travel period, as part of efforts to ensure safe and accident-free journeys.
In a statement on Monday Putco said it has been commissioned to deploy more than 600 buses, including major transport services for large religious gatherings such as the Zion Christian Church, the St. Engenas Zion Christian Church and the Universal Church. This reinforces the company’s position as a preferred transport provider.
Spokesperson for Putco, Lindokuhle Xulu, said: “Safety is always a priority in our operations. Each Putco bus is equipped with four dash cameras to monitor activity on the road.”
The campaign forms part of Putco’s ongoing commitment to road safety and accident-free operations.
In 2025, the initiative contributed to improved driver alertness, increased courtesy among road users and stronger defensive driving decisions, resulting in zero accidents across more than 500 buses deployed during the Easter weekend.
Putco said it will once again collaborate with key stakeholders, including the Road Accident Fund, Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department, the City of Johannesburg Transport Department, the Gauteng Department of Community Safety and Provincial Traffic Officers to enhance road safety measures, ensure smooth transport operations and contribute positively to road safety statistics during the 2026 Easter period.
