A SAPS ballistics expert has been charged for allegedly sabotaging forensic reports linked to the murders of businessman Armand Swart, musician DJ Sumbody and DJ Vintos.
Captain Laurence Makgotloe, attached to the SAPS Forensic Science Laboratory, appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Monday, where his bail application was postponed to June 2. He will remain behind bars until his next court appearance.
Makgotloe was arrested at his Pretoria home on Friday by the Commission Recommendations Task Team.
Police say the charges relate to allegations that he interfered with the administration of justice in several ongoing murder investigations, as well as evidence presented before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.
