The Gauteng Provincial Government is encouraging residents and visitors attending the Rand Show 2026 to visit government exhibition stands to access a wide range of essential services and information.

Taking place at Nasrec Expo Centre in Johannesburg from 2–6 April, the Rand Show provides a platform for the public to engage directly with government departments and entities in a convenient and interactive setting.

Among the key services on offer, the Department of Health is providing free health screenings, HIV testing and counselling, and information on preventative care and wellness programmes. The initiative also supports the “1.1 Million – Close the Gap” campaign, aimed at tracing and reconnecting patients who have defaulted on HIV and TB treatment.

Other departments present include Human Settlements, offering assistance with housing applications; Community Safety, focusing on crime prevention and public safety awareness; and e-Government, showcasing digital services that improve access to government resources.

The Department of Education is providing information on school admissions and curriculum support, while Infrastructure Development is highlighting projects aimed at improving public infrastructure and job creation. Economic Development is supporting small businesses and entrepreneurship, and Transport is sharing information on public transport, licensing, and road safety.

Additional services include budgeting and public finance information from Treasury, youth and lifestyle programmes from Sports and Recreation, and environmental awareness initiatives from the Department of Environment.

Key entities and municipal services are also participating, including Rand Water, Johannesburg Water, and the Johannesburg Metro Police Department, offering support ranging from water conservation education and billing assistance to road safety awareness.

Government spokesperson Elijah Mhlanga said the exhibition stands allow for direct engagement with communities, helping to improve awareness of services and strengthen trust between government and residents.

He emphasised that the Rand Show is not only an entertainment event, but also an important outreach initiative that brings government services closer to the people.

Residents are urged to take full advantage of the opportunity by visiting the stands, asking questions, and accessing services that can positively impact their daily lives.
