Bus operations in Tshwane have been severely reduced due to a fuel supply crisis, with authorities warning of possible service suspensions while efforts to restore deliveries continue.
Commuters in the City of Tshwane face major travel disruptions after the city’s bus service announced it has run out of diesel, leaving many without transport to get to work.
The MMC for Roads and Transport, Cllr Tlangi Mogale, confirmed that the shortage has affected normal operations across the Tshwane Bus Service (TBS) network.
Mogale acknowledged the inconvenience caused to commuters, noting that alternative transport options may be limited or costly. Passengers are being encouraged to make contingency plans while the situation persists.
"The City of Tshwane says it remains committed to restoring full bus operations as soon as fuel supplies are secured and will continue to provide updates to the public," she said.
Mogale said they are currently engaging suppliers and expect deliveries later in the week.
