Former IDAC head Andrea Johnson and ex-police general Feroz Khan arrested
Former Investigating Directorate Against Corruption head Andrea Johnson and former Crime Intelligence deputy head Feroz Khan have reportedly been arrested in connection with allegations of defeating the ends of justice. The NPA has confirmed that Johnson’s matter is before the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court.
Former Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) head Advocate Andrea Johnson and former deputy head of Crime Intelligence, Feroz Khan, have reportedly been arrested in connection with allegations of defeating the ends of justice.
The arrests are understood to have taken place on Friday morning, with the allegations reportedly linked to matters involving arrest warrants.
Although police had not publicly confirmed the arrests at the time of reporting, National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana confirmed that Johnson’s matter was before the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court.
“The matter of the former IDAC boss is appearing at Pretoria Magistrates Court,” Mahanjana said.
Johnson resigned as head of IDAC in July after facing scrutiny during the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.
Her testimony followed allegations that the directorate had acted outside its legal mandate and pursued a criminal case involving Crime Intelligence head Lieutenant-General Dumisani Khumalo and other senior officials.

Khan, meanwhile, was dismissed from the South African Police Service (SAPS) after failing to attend a designated senior officer’s expedited disciplinary proceedings.
Both Johnson and Khan have featured prominently in the commission’s proceedings, where questions about their professional dealings and alleged personal relationship also came under scrutiny.
Khan’s testimony before the commission was postponed earlier this month following the fatal shooting of his uncle-in-law, Preggy Padayachee.
Padayachee was shot dead on the R21 near Griffiths Road in Ekurhuleni in an incident suspected to have been a hit.
The circumstances surrounding the reported arrests and the allegations against the pair are expected to emerge as the legal process unfolds.
