Court finds Ngizwe Mchunu guilty of contempt, issues immediate arrest warrant
The Gauteng High Court has found Ngizwe Mchunu in contempt of court for breaching previous orders relating to defamatory remarks against EFF leader Julius Malema, resulting in a 10-day detention order.
The Gauteng High Court has found media personality and activist Ngizwe Mchunu guilty of contempt of court after determining that he violated earlier court orders concerning defamatory statements made against Julius Malema.
In its ruling, the court concluded that Mchunu failed to comply with directives aimed at preventing the publication and dissemination of defamatory content relating to Malema.
As a result, the court issued a warrant for Mchunu's arrest and ordered that he be detained for a period of 10 days. The warrant takes effect immediately, meaning law enforcement authorities are authorised to execute the arrest without delay.
The ruling marks the latest development in the legal dispute between Mchunu and Malema, underscoring the judiciary's stance on enforcing compliance with court orders and protecting the integrity of judicial processes.
