Brown Mogotsi nabbed after Madlanga Commission testimony
A North West businessman was arrested on charges of defeating the ends of justice shortly after concluding his testimony at the Madlanga Commission, with police linking the case to an allegedly staged assassination attempt in Vosloorus.
North West businessman Brown Mogotsi has been arrested on charges of defeating the ends of justice following his appearance before the Madlanga Commission on Friday.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) confirmed that a multidisciplinary team executed a J50 warrant of arrest against a suspect linked to the case, although the police statement did not mention Mogotsi by name.
According to SAPS, the case stems from the alleged staging of an attempted assassination on the suspect’s life in Vosloorus.
Preliminary investigations have further revealed that the firearm allegedly used in the incident has also been linked to several serious and violent crimes, including murder and attempted murder cases.
Mogotsi is expected to appear before the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 18 May 2026, on charges related to defeating the ends of justice.
