Zimbabwean national to appear in court over suspected stolen vehicle at Beitbridge
A 40-year-old Zimbabwean national is expected to appear in the Musina Magistrate’s Court after police seized a suspected stolen Toyota Hilux and allegedly fraudulent vehicle document at the Beitbridge Port of Entry.
A 40-year-old Zimbabwean national is expected to appear before the Musina Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 25 August 2026, following his arrest at the Beitbridge Port of Entry in Limpopo.
The man was arrested on Sunday, 23 August, after police officers conducting vehicle profiling and searches at the departure checkpoint intercepted a white Toyota Hilux.
According to police, further checks on the vehicle raised suspicions about its legitimacy.
A document allegedly presented in connection with the vehicle was also found to be fraudulent.
The Toyota Hilux, valued at approximately R36,000, was seized and towed to the Musina police vehicle pound, where it will remain as investigations continue.
The suspect is facing allegations relating to possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle and a fraudulent document.
Police said the investigation is ongoing.
