Triple murder under investigation after deadly shooting in Gugulethu informal settlement
Three people were shot and killed in Gugulethu's Kanana informal settlement on Saturday evening after armed suspects allegedly waited for a woman to return home before opening fire. Police believe the attack may have been targeted, with the motive still under investigation.

In a statement the police said the shooting occurred at about 7pm when three armed suspects arrived at a shack in NY111, allegedly looking for the owner of the home. After discovering she was not there, the suspects reportedly waited until she returned before opening fire on her and several other occupants.
A 41-year-old woman, a 46-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man sustained fatal gunshot wounds and were declared dead at the scene.
Several other people who were inside the shack managed to flee during the attack and escaped without injury.
