A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the killing of two police officers and two women in Reiger Park, Ekurhuleni, bringing the number of suspects charged in the case to three.
A third suspect has been arrested in connection with the brutal killing of two police officers and two women in Reiger Park, Ekurhuleni.
The 27-year-old suspect was arrested on Wednesday, 19 August 2026, by the Serious Organised Crime Investigation team based in Germiston.
According to the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation, commonly known as the Hawks, the suspect was traced to Ekurhuleni through an intelligence-driven operation and a meticulous investigation.
He is expected to appear before the Boksburg Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 21 August.
The latest arrest brings the number of suspects identified and charged in connection with the killings to three.
The suspect faces charges similar to those faced by his co-accused, one of whom is reportedly a relative.
Acting National Head of the Hawks, Lieutenant General Sphesihle Nkosi, commended investigators for their swift and methodical work which led to the arrest.
“The Hawks will remain steadfast in our efforts to investigate and apprehend those who involve themselves in taking innocent lives, particularly the lives of our law enforcement officers,” Nkosi said.
The latest development comes as investigators continue efforts to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths and bring all those allegedly responsible before the courts.
