Suspended SAPS sergeant Fannie Nkosi back in court for bail appeal
The Pretoria High Court is expected to hear the bail appeal of suspended organised crime unit member Sergeant Fannie Nkosi, who is facing multiple serious charges linked to firearms, ammunition and alleged interference in investigations.
Fannie Nkosi is set to appear before the Pretoria High Court on Tuesday as he challenges the decision to deny him bail.
Nkosi was refused bail in April after the Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court ruled that his release could undermine public trust and potentially interfere with ongoing investigations.
The suspended police officer faces charges relating to the alleged possession of police dockets, firearms, ammunition and a stun grenade, which were reportedly discovered during a raid at his home.
His legal troubles deepened after additional charges, including defeating the ends of justice, were added against him. The new charges are linked to a weapons and drugs case dating back to November 2022.
