Police are investigating the death of a six-year-old boy whose body was found inside a washing machine at a home in Retreat, Cape Town. According to Steenberg SAPS, an inquest docket has been opened following the incident, which occurred at a residence in Ensor Street, Cafda. The child was reported missing by his father on Friday morning.

Police said officers accompanied the father to the family home to assist with a search. During the search, the child was found inside a washing machine. Paramedics were called to the scene and declared the boy dead.
The child had reportedly been missing since the previous evening. His identity has not yet been released.
Police confirmed that a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death. The circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation, and no arrests have been announced at this stage.
