A 32-year-old man from Limpopo accused in connection with the deadly Saulsville tavern shooting is expected to reappear in court on New Year’s Eve as investigations into his bail application continue.
The accused appeared before the Atteridgeville Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, where the matter was postponed to 31 December 2025 to allow for bail investigations. He faces 12 counts of murder and 13 counts of attempted murder.
It is alleged that the incident occurred in the early hours of 6 December 2025, at around 04:00, at a tavern in Saulsville Hostel. The accused, together with two accomplices, alleged opened fire at the tavern, killing 12 people and attempting to kill 13 others.
Police say a thorough and intensive investigation led to the arrest of the suspect on 22 December 2025 in Polokwane, Limpopo. At the time of his arrest, he was already in custody in connection with an unrelated matter.
The accused remains in custody as the court awaits the outcome of bail investigations. Police investigations into the shooting are ongoing, and the search for the alleged accomplices continues.
