Organisers cite unforeseen circumstances as the reason for calling off the highly anticipated Legends Derby, with full refunds promised to ticket holders.
Puzzle Pictures, the organisers of the much-anticipated Legends Derby match, have announced that the game between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, scheduled to take place on Sunday, 29 March 2026 at 15:30, has been officially cancelled.
In a statement on Friday the organising team expressed regret over the decision, describing it as both difficult and disappointing. They noted that despite significant planning and commitment to delivering a memorable and nostalgic football event, factors beyond their control ultimately forced the cancellation.
“Despite our unwavering commitment and extensive efforts to bring this historic and nostalgic event to life, we have encountered circumstances beyond our control that have made it impossible to proceed as planned,” the organisers said.
Ticket holders have been assured that full refunds will be processed through the official ticketing partner, Ticketpro.
