Kaizer Chiefs part ways with co-coaches ahead of new season

Kaizer Chiefs have officially parted ways with co-coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef ahead of the new campaign, as the Soweto giants continue reshaping their technical setup following a difficult 2025/26 season.

Amakhosi announced the changes on Tuesday, bringing an end to the duo’s stint with Amakhosi after joining the club in 2024 as assistants to former head coach Nasreddine Nabi, who was dismissed in October 2025.

Despite helping Chiefs secure a third-place finish and qualification for next season’s CAF Confederation Cup, Kaze and Ben Youssef have now exited as the club looks to assemble a new-look technical team for the upcoming season.

The pair oversaw what was considered Chiefs’ best campaign since the 2019/20 season, offering supporters renewed hope after several inconsistent years.

In a statement, the club thanked the coaches for their contribution.

“We want to extend our gratitude to the coaches for their dedication and contribution, and wish them all the best in their future,” the club said.

Chiefs are now expected to intensify their search for a revamped technical team as preparations for the 2026/27 Betway Premiership gather momentum, with supporters eagerly awaiting the next appointment to lead the Glamour Boys forward.
