Judge Natalie Burnet of the High Court has dismissed an urgent bail application by Lekompo musician Shebeshxt, whose real name is Lehlogonolo Katlego Chauke.
The ruling was delivered on Friday, 9 January 2026, following an urgent approach by Shebeshxt’s legal team on 31 December 2025 to overturn an earlier bail refusal. Judgment in the matter had been reserved before being handed down.
Shebeshxt was arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Ladanna, Polokwane, during which two men were shot. One of the victims remains in critical condition in hospital.
He will remain in custody and is expected to return to court on 19 January 2026.
