DJ Zinhle defended her husband, Mörda Bongz, after influencer Seemah called him “inja,” meaning dog. Zinhle addressed the insult on TikTok, saying she felt hurt because she personally knew Seemah, who later apologised. The incident sparked widespread debate on social media.
Social media users have praised Zinhle “DJ Zinhle” Jiyane for standing up for her husband, Bongani Mohosana, known as Mörda Bongz, following cheating allegations that recently circulated online.
DJ Zinhle, a well-known mother, businesswoman, and musician, is known for ignoring gossip and refraining from addressing public rumours about her personal life. However, she surprised many this week when she took to her TikTok account to call out social media influencer Sima “Seemah” Mangolwane, who referred to her husband as “inja,” which means “dog” in isiZulu.
Wearing pink designer shades, a luxury weave, and a stylish outfit, DJ Zinhle calmly but firmly responded to the insult in a video that quickly went viral.
“Yes, I ignored all the stuff that’s been happening on social media, the disrespect that comes with it. But let me tell you, nothing hit me harder than someone calling my husband ‘inja’. That one, I don’t know if I’m going to recover from it,” she said.
She added that she felt even more hurt because she personally knew Seemah. “I think the thing that punched me the most about that statement was because I know the lady. I talk to her quite often, on DM sometimes, I’ve bought stuff from her business.
So she could have reached out to me if she was concerned. But she went straight to TikTok to call my husband ‘inja’. Hai guys, you guys are doing a lot, let me tell you. You guys are brave,” DJ Zinhle said.
The influencer has since apologised publicly and privately. “Molo sis wam. Please check your DMs on IG. I will also make a public apology on the podcast. I was angry, yes, but I should’ve still been respectful about it. Xolo sis wam,” Seemah wrote.
Following the exchange, social media platforms including Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and X were flooded with reactions. Many users praised DJ Zinhle for defending her husband, while others debated whether she should have addressed the issue at all.
One Facebook user wrote, “I love that kind of woman who defends her partner even though the ship is sinking. It’s not easy to find. Zinhle, keep on respecting, it really shows that if my partner insults me in front of you, you will put her in her place.”
Another user commented, “We are all human beings, and anything can happen. Let’s learn to respect other people’s marriages. As long as DJ Zinhle isn’t complaining on social media, it means she has sorted things out with her husband. It’s her choice to protect him if she still loves him.”
A TikTok user added, “She was fighting for you, Zinhle. Women were fighting for you across the country. There’s nothing cute about an allegedly cheating husband. You are in the spotlight, a role model to many, and your kids. People will always react when such things come out and no one addresses them.”
The incident has sparked widespread debate on social media about privacy, respect, and how public figures handle personal attacks online.
