Check your ticket: ITHUBA searches for R1 million lotto winner
A lucky National Lottery participant from Johannesburg has won more than R100 million in the Lotto jackpot after purchasing a Quick Pick ticket at Checkers Hyper in Sandton City.
Ithuba operator of the South African National Lottery, has announced that a lucky participant has won a staggering R100,644,721.10 Lotto jackpot from draw number 2643, held on Wednesday, 6 May 2026.
According to the operator, the winning ticket was purchased at Checkers Hyper Sandton City using the Quick Pick selection method.
The jackpot is the third-highest National Lottery jackpot won in 2026.
“We are excited to welcome our newest multi-millionaire and encourage every participant to check their tickets! We look forward to supporting them through this life-changing journey,” said ITHUBA CEO Charmaine Mabuza.
Winners are required to present their ticket, identity document, proof of residence and banking details when claiming their winnings. ITHUBA said winnings are paid tax-free within 72 hours of a valid claim.
The operator also confirmed that winners of more than R50,000 receive complimentary trauma counselling and financial advice to help them manage their winnings responsibly.
