Zuma’s TRC inquiry testimony postponed
Former president Jacob Zuma’s appearance before the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Cases Inquiry, scheduled for 22 October, has been deferred. Former president Thabo Mbeki is still expected to testify on 19 and 20 October.
The testimony of former president Jacob Zuma before the TRC Cases Inquiry has been postponed to a date yet to be confirmed.
In a statement on Wednesday, 14 October, the Judicial Commission of Inquiry into allegations of attempts to stop the investigation or prosecution of Truth and Reconciliation Commission cases confirmed that Zuma’s appearance had been deferred following an agreement with his legal representatives.
Zuma was initially scheduled to appear before the inquiry on Thursday, 22 October.
The inquiry will, however, continue hearing evidence from former president Thabo Mbeki on Monday and Tuesday, 19 and 20 October.
The hearings will start at 10am at the SAP Auditorium on the third floor of the Sci-Bono Discovery Centre, at the corner of Miriam Makeba and Helen Joseph streets in Newtown, Johannesburg.
The inquiry said all hearings and sessions are open to the public.
