SASSA has revised the November 2026 social grant payment dates ahead of the local government elections. Older persons grants will be paid from October 30, disability grants on November 2 and children’s grants on November 3.

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has announced revised payment dates for the November 2026 social grant cycle ahead of the upcoming Local Government Elections.

In a statement on Wednesday, 14 October , SASSA said the changes followed consultations with various stakeholders to ensure payments were administered efficiently and securely, with minimal disruption during the election period.

The revised schedule was approved by National Treasury.

Under the new payment arrangements, older persons grants will be paid on Friday, October 30, while disability grants will be paid on Monday, November 2.

Children’s grants will be paid on Tuesday, November 3.

SASSA said an additional payment date on Thursday, November 5, had been set aside specifically for beneficiaries whose grants were undergoing review.

The agency urged beneficiaries whose grants were under review to respond to official communication and attend review appointments when requested.

It also advised beneficiaries against rushing to SASSA offices unnecessarily, emphasising that payments would be processed according to the announced schedule.

Beneficiaries were encouraged to rely on SASSA’s official communication channels for accurate information and to guard against misinformation and disinformation about social grants.

SASSA said it remained committed to protecting the integrity of the social assistance system while ensuring millions of South Africans continued to access the support they depended on.
