UK murder case against fugitive Ndodana Tshuma postponed to October
The case against UK fugitive and triple murder accused Ndodana Tshuma has been postponed to 21 October, while proceedings continue in South Africa over his alleged role in the deaths of his wife and two daughters.
The case against 46-year-old Ndodana Tshuma, who is wanted by British authorities over the alleged murders of his wife and two daughters, has been postponed to 21 October.
Tshuma appeared before the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday as proceedings continued in a matter that has attracted both criminal and extradition proceedings.
The postponement is pending the finalisation of a plea and sentencing agreement in the local matter.
Tshuma is also facing a separate extradition application brought after authorities in the United Kingdom requested that he be returned to Britain to face three murder charges.
The charges relate to the deaths of his wife, Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, and their two daughters, Natalie and Nala Tshuma.
British authorities allege that the three victims were murdered in the United Kingdom and are seeking Tshuma’s return to face trial there.
His extradition proceedings are separate from the criminal proceedings currently before the South African court.
The court is expected to deal with the matter again on 21 October, when the status of the plea and sentencing agreement is expected to be addressed.
