Johannesburg K9 Unit bust uncovers illegal alcohol operation, with equipment, fake labels and cash seized.
Two suspects were arrested in Dobsonville on Saturday following a crackdown on the illegal manufacturing of alcohol by the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department’s K9 Unit.
During the operation, officers uncovered a suspected illicit alcohol production site, where they seized manufacturing equipment, large quantities of illegal alcohol, counterfeit labels and an undisclosed amount of cash believed to be linked to the operation.
Authorities say the bust forms part of ongoing efforts to combat the production and distribution of illegal alcohol, which poses serious health and safety risks to the public.
The two suspects are expected to appear in court on Monday, where they will face charges related to the illegal manufacture and possession of alcohol.
