A 45-year-old man suspected of killing his 15-year-old daughter has been found dead in Rotterdam Village, Limpopo, following a four-day manhunt by police.
The man, identified as Themba Baloyi, had been on the run after the body of his daughter, Xilaveko Suke, was discovered on Christmas Day. Police said Baloyi was last seen with the teenager on 22 December 2025 after receiving permission from her mother to take her to Giyani Mall to buy Christmas clothes. The child’s parents are reportedly separated.
Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba confirmed that the teenager’s body was found at her grandmother’s one-room home, where she had sustained multiple stab wounds. Following the discovery, police launched an intensive search for Baloyi, who was believed to be linked to the killing.
Colonel Ledwaba said the search came to an end on Saturday afternoon when Baloyi’s lifeless body was found. The circumstances surrounding his death are still unclear.
Police have opened an inquest docket and investigations into both deaths are ongoing. Authorities have urged communities to report domestic disputes early and to seek assistance when family conflicts arise, warning that early intervention can help prevent similar tragedies.
