Social media erupts with claims Mogotsi staged Vosloorus attack for attention

Businessman Brown Mogotsi claims he escaped a deadly ambush in Vosloorus and now fears for his life, but social media is ablaze with speculation, with many accusing him of staging the attack for attention.

Businessman Brown Mogotsi claims he escaped a deadly ambush in Vosloorus and now fears for his life, but social media is ablaze with speculation, with many accusing him of staging the attack for attention.

Mogotsi has been implicated in wrongdoing involving alleged meddling in law enforcement that has led to the suspension of Police Minister Senzo Mchunu. He has also accused Fikile Mbalula and his wife of corruption.

@sirhighbreed wrote on X that: “They want us to believe the notorious businessman Brown Mogotsi with ties to government officials was being transported in that scrap? and all 8 bullets missed them? Respect us please”.

It was staged. They made a mistake by choosing a cheap car. Brown Mogotsi will never move around in a vehicle like that, said Bou on X.

@Sisi_Sasha tweeted that Brown Mogotsi thinks we will believe that they tried to assassinate him…and failed? These people think we are all ANC volunteers.

@Talklessers said “It's impossible for Brown Mogotsi to travel at night with that red Chevrolet at night, that doesn't even have an airbag , there is no way, they just to distract us from the real truth, he is running away from accountability just like Mthethwa”.

On Tuesday, police confirmed an attempted hit on Mogotsi just days before he appears at the Adhoc Committee into Police Corruption. His bullet riddled vehicle was discovered in Vosloorus Ekurhuleni on Monday evening.

He will appear at the parliamentary inquiry on the 18th,19th and 20th of November where is expected to dish out dirt on ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula.

Police are investigating whether Mogotsi’s alleged murder attempt was staged.
