SAPS uncovers multi-million rand drug laboratory in Krugersdorp
Five South African nationals have been arrested after police uncovered a suspected drug manufacturing laboratory at a farm in Krugersdorp, Gauteng.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) Crime Intelligence at National Head Office, together with the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigations (DPCI), has uncovered a suspected multi-million rand drug manufacturing laboratory at a farm in Krugersdorp.
In a statement on Thursday, police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said that police discovered quantities of Mandrax and ecstasy tablets at the premises during the operation.
Five South African nationals who were found at the property have been arrested.
The scene remains active, with senior SAPS officers en route as further assessments and investigations continue.
Police have not yet provided details on the estimated value of the drugs or the full extent of the laboratory's operations.
