Orlando Pirates Football Club has approached the High Court seeking to preserve funds linked to certain financial transactions while the transactions are investigated.
The club said the court application is a precautionary measure aimed at protecting its funds during the investigation.
Orlando Pirates stressed that the application does not constitute a finding of wrongdoing against the individual concerned.
“The application is not a finding of wrongdoing and should not be interpreted as one,” the club said in a statement.
The individual involved is cooperating with the process, according to the club, which said it remains committed to ensuring a fair process for everyone involved.
The club also sought to reassure its supporters, partners and sponsors that its day-to-day operations and commitments remain unaffected.
“Our focus remains on the team and the season ahead,” Orlando Pirates said.
The matter is currently before the court, and the club said it would not comment further at this stage.
It said further updates would be provided when it is able to do so.
