The two brothers accused of killing rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes and chef Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane have abandoned their bail application during a court appearance in Durban.
The case against Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande took a new turn on Friday when the pair withdrew their bail application while appearing in the Durban Magistrate’s Court.
The brothers are charged in connection with the 2023 murders of award-winning rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes and celebrity chef Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane, who were gunned down outside a popular restaurant on Florida Road.
While abandoning their bail application, the accused are still expected to proceed with their request to be transferred from the Bongweni Super Max Correctional Facility to Westville Prison in Durban.
The Ndimande brothers were brought back to the country four months ago, after they fled to Eswatini.
The case has been postponed to 17 April, when the brothers are expected to be served with indictments and formally join the other five accused in the matter. The group is expected to stand trial later this year.
