Jub Jub's arrest warrant cancelled as court case is postponed
Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye’s warrant of arrest has been cancelled after his lawyer submitted a doctor’s note explaining his previous absence from court. The matter has been postponed to 17 September.
Media personality Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye remains out on bail after the Germiston Magistrate’s Court cancelled a warrant of arrest that had previously been issued against him.
Maarohanye returned to court on Monday after failing to appear at his previous court date two weeks ago.
At the time, his lawyer told the court that the media personality was ill. On Monday, his legal representative submitted a copy of a doctor's note to support the explanation for his absence.
The court subsequently cancelled the warrant of arrest that had been issued against Maarohanye.
The State requested that the matter be postponed, and the case is now set to return to court on 17 September 2026.
Maarohanye faces charges of discharging a firearm in a public place and pointing an object likely to make another person believe it was a firearm.
The charges stem from an alleged incident involving an e-hailing driver in Edenvale, east of Johannesburg, in June.
