Jub Jub faces arrest warrant after missing Germiston court appearance
Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye failed to appear in the Germiston Magistrates’ Court on Monday, prompting the court to issue a warrant that will only be activated if he does not return when his case resumes on 7 September.
A warrant of arrest has been issued for media personality and musician Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye after he failed to appear in the Germiston Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Maarohanye is facing allegations of kidnapping, assaulting an e-hailing driver and discharging a firearm during an altercation in June 2026.
His legal representative told the court that Maarohanye had been booked off sick since 20 August. He is also said to be in possession of a medical report indicating that he was booked off for five days.
The warrant is procedural and will not be activated immediately. The court has ordered that it only come into effect on 7 September, when Maarohanye is expected to return to court.
The matter stems from a dispute involving an e-hailing driver in June. The State alleges that Maarohanye pointed and discharged what appeared to be a firearm during the confrontation.
His lawyer, however, has disputed claims that a pellet gun was recovered from Maarohanye’s home.
Maarohanye has denied the allegations, describing the charges against him as fabricated.
The case is expected to return to the Germiston Magistrates’ Court on 7 September, when the court will determine the next steps in the matter.
