The family of former Ukhozi FM radio personality Mandla “Njinji” Magwaza has confirmed his passing following a short illness.
The family of former Ukhozi FM radio personality Mandla “Njinji” Magwaza has confirmed that he has passed away.
In a statement released on Saturday, the family said Magwaza died in the early hours of the morning after a brief illness. He passed away in hospital.
Magwaza was known for hosting Ukhozi FM’s popular Top 20 show, which he presented for several years before his departure from the programme. The show was later taken over by Zandile “DJ Zeal” Dladla.
The family said they are deeply saddened by his passing and have requested privacy as they mourn the loss of their loved one.
“The family is devastated by this loss and kindly asks for privacy and space as they come to terms with the passing of Mandla. Further details regarding memorial and funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course,” the statement read.
The family also expressed gratitude for the messages of love, support and condolences received during this difficult time.
Magwaza’s passing has been met with an outpouring of tributes from colleagues, listeners and fans across the country, who have remembered him for his contribution to radio and his impact on audiences.
