Five suspects to appear in court over R1 million drug lab in Krugersdorp
Five suspects are expected to appear in the Krugersdorp Magistrate’s Court after police uncovered a clandestine drug manufacturing laboratory worth an estimated R100 million at a farm in Hekpoort, near Krugersdorp, Gauteng.
Five suspects are expected to appear before the Krugersdorp Magistrate’s Court on Monday following their arrest last week after a multi-million-rand drug manufacturing laboratory was discovered at a farm in Hekpoort, near Krugersdorp.
The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks) said the laboratory, valued at an estimated R100 million, was uncovered during a multidisciplinary operation involving the South African Narcotics Bureau of the Hawks, SAPS Head Office Crime Intelligence, the Special Task Force and the West Rand K-9 Unit.
Police discovered quantities of Mandrax and ecstasy tablets at the suspected drug manufacturing facility.
The five suspects, all South African nationals, were found on the premises and are expected to face charges of manufacturing and dealing in illegal drugs.
