Family identifies 28-year-old Kempton Park murder victim
The family of 28-year-old Gracious Nkomo has identified her as one of the women whose bodies were discovered in the Kempton Park area earlier this month.
The family of 28-year-old Gracious Nkomo has positively identified her as one of the women found dead along the R21 in Kempton Park.
Nkomo was the third woman whose body was discovered in the Kempton Park area on 10 September. She was found partially clothed.
Her family identified her at the Germiston Mortuary on Thursday.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) continues to investigate her murder, along with the other cases involving women whose bodies have been found in the area.
Acting National Commissioner of SAPS Lieutenant General Puleng Dimpane said investigations were progressing, with a multidisciplinary team working around the clock to establish the circumstances surrounding the murders and identify those responsible.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Gracious Nkomo during this extremely difficult time,” Dimpane said.
“Our investigators remain seized with these cases, and we will continue to pursue every available lead to ensure that those responsible for these murders are brought to justice.”
Kempton Park remains under intensified policing operations as investigations into the murders continue.
