Chief Justice's Office warns public about fake Mandisa Maya declaration
The Office of the Chief Justice has dismissed a fraudulent document circulating on social media that falsely claims to be an official declaration by Chief Justice Mandisa Maya, urging the public not to share the misleading content.
The Office of the Chief Justice (OCJ) has issued a warning about a fake notice circulating on social media that falsely presents itself as an official declaration by Chief Justice Mandisa Maya.
In a statement on Wednesday, the OCJ said it had become aware of the fraudulent document, which is dated 24 May 2026 and features an image of the Chief Justice. The office confirmed that the signature appearing on the document is also fake.
The OCJ strongly distanced Chief Justice Maya and the judiciary from the document, describing it as malicious disinformation intended to mislead the public.
The office has urged members of the public to refrain from sharing the false declaration and to verify information through official channels before circulating it.
The statement reaffirmed that neither Chief Justice Maya nor the judiciary had any involvement in the creation or distribution of the document.
