Lulama Ngcukayitobi says an AI-generated letter falsely claiming his resignation is circulating.
ANC Eastern Cape Provincial Secretary Lulama Ngcukayitobi has dismissed claims that he has resigned from party structures. This follows the circulation of a letter purporting to be his resignation.
The letter, dated 28 March 2026, described the 9th PEC of the ANC as “disgusting.”
“I pen this letter with the same spirit as three previous attempts. For reasons that are known to many, among them lack of organizational discipline among the collective I am leading with. Notwithstanding the frustration I raised in the letter directed to the national officials some time ago,” the letter read.
Ngcukayitobi confirmed that the signature was indeed his, but said the letter was fake, adding that AI was used to write it.
“I only laid one resignation a long time ago and it was thrown out, and I am happy to be part of the ANC,” he said.
