Fifi Cooper suspends national tour Gender-Based Violence matter
Award-winning rapper Fifi Cooper has temporarily suspended her "1 Night with Fifi Cooper Tour" as she attends to a personal matter relating to gender-based violence, with upcoming performances cancelled.
Award-winning rapper Fifi Cooper has announced the immediate suspension of her "1 Night with Fifi Cooper Tour"due to a personal matter relating to gender-based violence (GBV).
In a statement released by MoCooper Records on Monday, the record label said the difficult decision was made to allow the artist to prioritise her safety and well-being, as well as that of her family.
"This decision was made following an unexpected personal matter relating to gender-based violence that requires Fifi's immediate attention. Our main objective is to urgently prioritise the safety and well-being of herself and family. As a result, upcoming tour activities will be paused," the statement read.
As part of the suspension, two scheduled performances have been cancelled. These include the 25 July show at Carnival City Mardi Gras Theatre and the 1 August performance in Mahikeng.
The record label said new tour dates would be announced once arrangements had been finalised.
Fans who purchased tickets through official ticketing platforms will receive automatic refunds, with the refund process already underway through the original method of payment.
In a personal message to supporters, Fifi Cooper apologised for the cancellations and thanked fans for their continued support during what she described as an exceptionally challenging time.
"I am so deeply sorry that we have had to make these changes. I apologise for any disappointment caused. This was not my intention. I intend to come back stronger. I've always drawn so much strength from you and because of that I will face this with my head held high and leading with faith," she said.
MoCooper Records has appealed for privacy for the artist and her family while the matter is being addressed. The label did not disclose further details regarding the gender-based violence matter.
