ActionSA calls for immediate dismissal of Julius Mkhwanazi
The party has welcomed Mkhwanazi’s arrest and is urging the City of Ekurhuleni to act swiftly by terminating his employment.
ActionSA has called for the immediate dismissal of Julius Mkhwanazi following his arrest on charges including fraud, corruption, and defeating the ends of justice.
In a statement on Saturday, the party welcomed the arrest of the suspended Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department deputy chief and urged the City of Ekurhuleni to terminate his employment with immediate effect.
ActionSA also acknowledged the work of the Madlanga Commission, commending its response to allegations and testimonies presented during its proceedings.
The party argued that delaying justice until the commission concludes its work would be detrimental, stressing that there is already sufficient evidence to pursue criminal cases against those implicated.
ActionSA said Mkhwanazi’s alleged conduct has brought both the EMPD and the City of Ekurhuleni into disrepute. The party said it maintains that he has lost credibility and should not continue in his role at the expense of taxpayers.
