Family demands answers after 29-year-old woman dies at cartrack’s Rosebank office

The family of 29-year-old Gcina Dhladhla is seeking clarity over the circumstances surrounding her death at a Johannesburg office, raising concerns about how her medical emergency was handled.

The family of Gcina Dhladhla, a 29-year-old employee who died at an office building in Rosebank, Johannesburg, is calling for answers following her sudden death at work.

According to her family, Dhladhla had informed her supervisors that she was feeling unwell in the days leading up to the incident. They allege she had previously raised concerns about her working conditions and attendance-related issues, including receiving a warning despite submitting a medical certificate for sick leave.

Family members claim Dhladhla reported for duty on Friday despite not feeling well. They allege she later went to the bathroom, where she was found unconscious after colleagues became concerned when she did not return.

According to the family's account, efforts were made to assist her while emergency medical services were being arranged. They have questioned whether there were delays in contacting paramedics and whether appropriate emergency procedures were followed.

The family further alleges that they were not immediately informed of the incident and are seeking greater transparency regarding the events that led to Dhladhla's death.

They have also raised concerns about reports that she had been encouraged to continue working despite feeling ill and was allegedly advised to obtain pain medication rather than leave work.

Cartrack has denied allegations that Dhladhla was prevented from going home after informing management that she was unwell.

The company is yet to provide further details on the circumstances surrounding the incident, while Dhladhla's family continues to call for a full explanation and accountability regarding the handling of her medical emergency.
