Afribiz and Satewave join forces to drive Africa’s tech revolution and create jobs
A new partnership between Afribiz and Satewave Technologies is set to bring electric vehicles, renewable energy, healthcare technology and digital innovation to African markets, with a strong focus on job creation and skills development.
Satewave Technologies and Afribiz have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating the growth of next-generation technologies across South Africa and the rest of the continent.
The collaboration will focus on sectors including electric mobility, EV charging infrastructure, renewable energy, healthcare technology, telecommunications and other emerging digital technologies.
The partnership was formally concluded during a signing ceremony at Satewave Technologies' offices on Thursday, 27 August 2026.
As part of the collaboration, the companies have established Afribiz Future Tech (Pty) Ltd, a jointly owned venture that will spearhead operations in South Africa and potentially expand into other African markets.
The business will bring together Satewave's international technology and technical expertise with Afribiz's experience in infrastructure, investment and African market development.
Initial plans include the introduction of electric vehicles and related infrastructure, with brands associated with the collaboration including Geely, Firefly and Hongqi.
However, the companies say the partnership is about more than simply importing and selling new technology.
A major focus will be on creating jobs, developing skills, attracting investment and supporting localisation as operations expand.
Employment opportunities are expected across several areas, including engineering, sales, technical support, installation, maintenance, logistics, warehousing, renewable energy and EV charging infrastructure.

Afribiz Invest President Dr Collen Mashawana said Africa needed to play a meaningful role in industries that would shape the future.
“Africa must participate meaningfully in the industries and technologies that will shape the future. This partnership is about bringing global innovation together with African capability to create jobs, develop skills, attract investment and build sustainable businesses,” he said.
Satewave Technologies representative Zhou Zhonggou said the company saw significant opportunities for technology growth across Africa.
“We see enormous opportunity in Africa. Together with Afribiz, we want to introduce innovative technologies while building sustainable businesses that contribute to local economies and create opportunities for communities,” he said.
Satewave Technologies, which has roots in Hong Kong and operations in Zimbabwe, brings international product and technical capabilities to the partnership.
Afribiz, meanwhile, is a South African-founded diversified infrastructure and investment group with experience spanning infrastructure, construction, property, energy, mining and ICT.
The companies plan to engage governments, financial institutions, investors, technology manufacturers, developers, energy companies and healthcare institutions as the venture expands.
Through Afribiz Future Tech, the two companies hope to bridge the gap between global technological innovation and African markets while contributing to economic growth and employment.
The partnership signals a growing push towards positioning Africa not only as a consumer of emerging technologies, but as an active participant in developing the industries expected to shape the future.
